SMVenture ("we", "our", or "us") operates the RideBuddy mobile application. This Privacy Policy informs riders and users of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when using RideBuddy, specifically addressing our safety telemetry and convoy navigation features.
RideBuddy is designed around rider safety and group convoy coordination. To provide core functionality, the app requests the following permissions:
Why we collect it: RideBuddy's Live Convoy Radar tracks the moving positions of riders in an active group trip. Background location access (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION) allows the app to calculate pack spread (e.g., rider falling behind by >1.4 km) and trigger regroup warnings even when the phone is mounted on handlebars with screen turned off.
Control: Location tracking is only active during an Active Ride and can be paused or stopped by the rider at any moment.
Why we collect it: Riders can voluntarily save up to 3 emergency contacts, their blood group, and bike details. In the event of an SOS trigger, this information is broadcast to verified convoy members to assist first responders.
Why we collect it: Allows riders to upload trip cover photos, share road trip memories in group albums, and attach receipts to split trip expenses. We never scan private photo galleries.
